Beauty Starts On The Inside

Although these subjects are not as comfortable as some they maybe some of the most important things we can do to sustain our beautiful completions by detoxify through enemas.

But maybe your dealing with something a little more serious? If so then an enema would be especially helpful during a healing crisis, after a serious illness to speed healing

Basti Recipes

In Ayurveda, there are various recipes for Basti (Ayurvedic enema). I have listed a few of these general recipes, but I must remind you to consult a qualified Ayurvedic Physician, neuropath, or Medical Doctor if you have any major medical problems. Each recipe has benefits and contradictions. These recipes are not meant to heal or cure any specific illness, but nutritional basti can be used to assist with certain nutritional imbalances.

Basti treatments should not be used with very old or frail people, although a 2 oz. sesame oil basti may be helpful if constipation is a significant issue.

Ayurvedic basti involves the administration of certain herbal preparations in sesame oil into the colon. Basti is the most powerful of the five main procedures of Panchakarma. These medicated enemas are used for various specific purposes. However, in general, Basti treatments are used to promote the elimination of the loosened vata dosha out through the rectum. These vata disorders may include constipation, distention of the colon, chronic fever, the common cold, sexual disorders, kidney stones, heart pain, vomiting, backache, neck pain and hyperacidity.

Since vata is mainly located in the colon and skeletal system, the medication is introduced rectally. When treatment is properly administrated, Basti helps to rejuvenate the body, provide strength and longevity and improve the complexion and the voice. Enemas should not be given to persons suffering from shortness of breath, chronic abdominal pain, bleeding from rectum, cough, diarrhea, or severe anemia.

The treatment involves the introduction of medicinal substances, such as, herbal oils and decoctions in a liquid medium, into the rectum of the person. This is because vata is predominantly located in the colon and bones.  Herbal concoctions made of sesame oil are generally used for the purpose. The Basti procedure restores the balance of the body and mind, weight in emaciated people, decreases weight in the obese, improves vision, prevents aging, brings back lustre and strength, and healthy longevity. It is specifically for vatic disorders. It relieves constipation, distention, chronic fever, cold, sexual disorders, kidney stones, heart pain, backache, sciatica and other pains in the joints. Many other Vata disorders such as arthritis, rheumatism, gout, muscle spasms and headaches may also be treated with Basti.

• 2 med onions
• 1 lb greens
• 10 thin slices fresh ginger root
• black rock salt or other unprocessed rock salt

• curry powder
• black pepper
• fresh hot peppers or cayenne pepper
• spice to your own taste
Vegetables can be put in whole or just cut enough to fit in pot
• fill pot with water

• bring to boil and then reduce heat to simmer uncovered for 1½ hours.
• pour through a colander into large bowl or pot
• cover vegetables in pot with water add more spices & simmer for another 40 minutes
• add to the other batch of broth

This should make about ½ gallon of broth.

To use this broth with Liver Flush Program:
• heat, as you use it by the mug, to just very warm, but not hot.
• Add ½ teaspoon miso paste
• 1 teaspoon ghee or sesame oil
• drink whenever you feel hunger

Oleating with oils only (no food lubricants) moistens the body.
It does not contribute to fat production.
This process greatly enhances the release of toxins from the body by softening and breaking up congestions, and lubricating the lower intestinal tract.
